Philosophy of life

Here are basic principles of some of the religions of India:

"Beyond the senses are the objects (of the senses) and
Beyond the objects of mind,
Beyond the mind is the understanding,
Beyond the understanding is the great self,
Beyond the great self is is the unmanifest,
Beyond the unmanifest is the spirit,
Beyond the spirit , there is nothing,
That is the end of the journey,
That is the final goal -Sa Para gatih"

  • Absence of pride
  • Unpretentiousness
  • Non-injury
  • Accommodation
  • Straightforwardness
  • Service to teacher
  • Purity
  • Steadfastness
  • Self-restraint
  • Dispassion towards sense objects
  • Absence of egoism
  • Being aware of problems of birth, death, disease and sorrow
  • Freedom from ownership
  • Caring without attachment for son,wife, home and so on
  • Equanimity in meeting the desirable and the undesirable
  • Devotion to the lord
  • Resorting ot a quite place
  • Absence of craving for company
  • Continuous study of the scriptures that give knowledge of the self
  • And seeing the truth of self.

  1. Samyag dristi- Right view
  2. Samyag sankalpa- Right resolve
  3. Samyag vak- Right speech
  4. Samyag karmanta- Right conduct
  5. Samyag jiva- Right livelihood
  6. Samyag vyayama- Right effort
  7. Samyag smriti- Right mindfulness
  8. Samyag samadhi- Right concentration
